Sysmex America, Inc. recognizes and accepts its responsibility to be a good steward of the environment and the community at large.  Environmental stewardship is the responsibility of all SAI associates.  In support of this responsibility, SAI has established the following commitments:

Sysmex continues its steady path of environmental responsibility through our design, manufacturing and distribution of service and products.  As evidenced by our ISO-14001 Environmental Management System Certification and by employee outreach, Sysmex has implemented a number of environmental protection activities for the benefit of our natural environment.

Our Efficiency, Waste and Recycling Innovations
 
As part of the Smart Ideas® Program, Sysmex partnered with a group of companies along with Energy Investments and our local electric company, ComEd, to install more energy-efficient fluorescent lighting.  This helped reduce total consumption of electricity by more than 250,000 kWatts.  This is reflected in an average monthly savings of 27-30%.
 
Sysmex replaced "always on" light switches in bathrooms and break rooms with motion activated switches that automatically switch off when no one is in the room.  Through awareness campaigns, associates  reduce electricity consumption by turning off computers and lights at the end of each work day.
 
Current recycling efforts at Sysmex America result in about 2,400 lbs. of paper, cans and plastic that are recycled each month.  This has been accomplished by placing recycle bins in associate cubicles and hallways.
 
Associates participate in recycling and conservation.  Styrofoam cups have been replaced with paper cups in associate cafeterias and “Save a Cup Use a Mug” campaign encourages associates to bring their own coffee mug to work.
