Environmental Policy
Sysmex America, Inc. recognizes and accepts its responsibility to be a good steward
of the environment and the community at large. Environmental stewardship is the
responsibility of all SAI associates. In support of this responsibility, SAI has
established the following commitments:

We deliver reassurance to all people by carrying out business activities in an environmentally conscious manner.

We promote environmental management in throughout the life cycles of products
and services and the value chain of our business activities, so that we can
contribute to climate change mitigation, sustainable resource use (waste
reduction, recycle, water conservation), protection of biodiversity, and proper
control of chemical substances.

We comply with all applicable national or regional environmental regulations,
standards and agreements.

In order to improve environmental performance, we continually improve our
environmental conservation activities and work diligently prevent pollution and
minimize the impact our products and services have on the environment.

member of the community, while educating and raising the environmental

Recycling efforts – Sysmex continues to recycle throughout our various operations. Every day recyclables such as paper, aluminum, glass, and cardboard are collected at each site. Additional recycling activities for e-waste, universal waste, and even scrap metals are in place where applicable.

Energy reduction – Sysmex monitors overall CO2 and continues to make efforts to reduce output by reducing energy consumption. Consumption of natural gas, electricity, and gasoline used within our fleet of service vehicles are monitored to reduce output and improve efficiencies. Several Sysmex sites have undergone lighting upgrades, LED retrofit and use of motion detection sensors play a vital role in the decreased use of electricity. Sysmex continues to purchase fleet vehicles with higher mpg to reduce fuel consumption. Sysmex Reagents America continues to pursue less water consumption during the manufacturing of reagents via new technology and equipment.

Performance – Sysmex was able to lower year over year CO2 emissions from previous years in 2016 and again in 2018. These efforts were accomplished despite a growing business infrastructure. Beginning in 2019, Sysmex began purchasing 50% of all electricity from renewable sources. Globally, Sysmex Corporation’s Eco-Vision 2025 strives to reduce waste and consumption of resources. One of Sysmex’s largest contributions to reducing our impact to the environment is our Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT). Sysmex VILT training streams high definition core systems training classes live to customer laboratories from our state-of-the-art studio via the internet. Our virtual training has eliminated the burden on the environment by reducing the need for customers to travel to our training center for training. This innovative approach to customer service has eliminated the environmental impacts of vehicle and airline travel generated via each trainee.
